This isn't a cost. It pays you back.
Most things you buy for the house don't pay you back. This one does.
Based on 15,000 km a year. Your car and your power plan will change the numbers. But you can do the same sum on your own bill.
After about two years, the charger has paid for itself. Every year after that is money you keep. Got solar? It's faster.
And when you sell the house, the charger stays and adds value.
Your EV came with a cable. It didn't come with a charger.
The cable in your boot is for emergencies. It is not a charger.
You still plan your week around charging
Checking the app. Driving to the shops to plug in. Sitting in the car for 40 minutes. It becomes a hassle.
You pay three times too much
Public chargers cost 60 to 85 cents a unit. Home power at night is a fraction of that. Solar is close to free.
It's still not full in the morning
A power point trickles. On a big battery, overnight is not enough.
Your power point is working too hard
Power tripping while your EV charges? A standard socket wasn't designed to be your everyday EV charger. A dedicated charger means safer, more reliable charging.
This is not a car problem. It's a charging problem. One visit fixes it for good.

FAQ's
How much does it cost to install an EV charger at home?
From $1,990 for a single storey home with a tile roof. Tin roof adds $100. Two storeys adds $200. Solar hookup adds $200. A cable run of 15 to 25 metres adds $200. Over 25 metres, three phase and apartments get their own quote. Build yours in the form above.
Is the Evnex charger compatible with my car?
Yes. It fits every EV sold in Australia. Tesla too. Get a new car later and it still works.
How fast will the Evnex charger charge my car?
Up to 50km of range an hour. A day's driving is back in a couple of hours. A big battery is full by morning.
Can my home's electrical system handle an EV charger?
Almost always. The charger watches what your home is using and eases off when needed. It won't trip your power. We give it its own circuit and safety switch.
Do I need three-phase power?
No. Most Melbourne homes are single phase. The charger runs at full speed on it. If you do have three phase, we quote that separately.
Can I charge my EV using solar power?
Yes. It uses your own solar first. We wire it up at your switchboard so it can see what your roof is making. That's the solar add-on.
Can I schedule charging for cheaper electricity rates?
Yes. It reads your power plan and charges when rates are lowest. We set it up with you.
Can I control and monitor my EV charger from my phone?
Yes. The app shows what each charge cost, where the power came from, and when it charges next. The whole family can use it.
Where can the EV charger be installed?
Garage wall, carport, or outside wall. It's weatherproof. We find the spot where the 5m cable reaches your car.
How long does installation take?
One to two hours for a standard install. Power is off for part of it. Be home at the start and the end.
What warranty does the Evnex charger come with?
Four years on the charger from Evnex. Our work is covered for as long as you own the home.
Will I need to upgrade my switchboard?
Rarely. Most Melbourne boards have room. If yours doesn't, we tell you on the call before you book.
Why should I install a home EV charger instead of using a regular power point?
The cable that came with your car is four times slower. It makes a normal power point work hard all night. A real charger is faster, safer, and cheaper to run.
